Stamps info

I began stamp collecting at 8 years old. After packing and moving to my new house I know that I have more stamps than I need. Via stamp auctions I bought many many many stamp collections that had stamps I wanted. The result is that I have many duplicate stamps. I need to get rid of my many hundreds of duplicate stamps. You will find my prices very nice, even if you are a collector or a stamp dealer!

Quality.

All stamps should be collectable and not damaged. Stamps/sets are always checked. Pre-sealed packets (not mine!) I cannot check, and are sold in 'good faith'. I often add a few 'extra' to my packets just in case I missed a bad one.

Collecting Tips.

Always wash your hands. Within 30 minutes my hands always seem to become greasy again! This will 'mark' your stamps forever! Try to use special stamp tweezers. DONT collect damaged stamps. Torn, thin, ripped, grease/dirt/coffee marks and even heavy postmarks are considered as damaged. Unused modern stamps are best collected without undisturbed gum on the back.

Stockbooks.

Are one of the best ways to store your collection. The special pages are filled with 'see-through' strips with open top. Just slip your stamp in and store the album somewhere dry, flat or upright. Stockbooks come with Black pages or white pages. I use both.

Stamp Catalogues.

Are very very handy. They are also VERY expensive. The cheapest methods is to join a Book Library, become a stamp club member and borrow them. Or share the costs with friends or a group. A catalogue will give you an idea of stamp values. Will show you what other set values where issued.

Investments.

Collect stamps because you like them! I think that those that want to make money from stamps NEED lots-n-lots of money to start with. In fact if you have so much money, then, there are much easier and quicker ways to make money, than buying stamps. Fun in stamps is finding and watching as those spaces are filled. Exchanging stamps with friends and club meetings can be fun. Stamps are also educational.
Atleast, they taught me many things !!

TIP...

When first starting a 'theme', it is cheaper to buy the largest all different packet that you can afford. Stamps bought one-by-one always cost more.
